Pending launch

Uncategorized — gerry on January 21, 2010 at 7:42 am

The launch service for Engage City Church is less than a month away. It is exciting seeing God’s hand at work in Brisbane. Will and Nerida have been troopers. It is not always easy doing God’s work, but they are dedicated to seeing their community cared for.

My hope and prayer is that Jesus’ name would be on the lips and minds of the people of Brisbane, giving new life to those who seek Him.

My heart goes out to the Engage City Church core team, especially Will and Nerida as God plants His church in this great city.

If you can not go, please consider supporting us financially. Every dollar counts. Click Here to go to the donation page. $2, $20, $20,000 whatever the amount it will help us to make it to Brisbane to help Will and Nerida do the will of God in Australia.

End of year tax write-offs

Uncategorized — gerry on December 21, 2009 at 8:49 am

We have started planning our trip to Brisbane in June of 2010. Currently we are building our team and trying to raise our prayer and financial support for this trip.

As the year come to a close it is the best time to get in those last minute tax write-offs for the tax season that is soon to come. If you are looking for a tax write-off please consider supporting us. If you know of someone who is looking for a great cause or just a tax write-off, please share this website with them.

You can find more information about this trip and donating on the support and donations page on left hand side of this page.

Thank you for considering supporting this cause.

Let the missions begin

Uncategorized — gerry on December 14, 2009 at 8:31 pm

Last week a group of missionaries made the long trek from Valdosta, GA to Brisbane, QLD. This trip is the first trip from the US to partner with Engage City Church as they start spreading the gospel to a city in dire need of the love of Christ.

We are praying for the time the missionaries spend in Australia, that it would be fruitful and encouraging to Will, Nerida and the rest of the Engage City Church team.

The Team in Brisbane is growing

One of my favorite pictures from Brisbane.  God will do wonders in this city and it is so good to have at least seen it once.  So thankful that God has hand picked Will and Nerida to share the love of Christ with this city.  They are an excellent choice… Good job God :)

Insomnia

So I can’t sleep. So I sit here and think, “what can I write about on the blog ” amazingly nothing comes to mind so I figure I will just babble for a while and then head off to work.

I spoke to my manager yesterday about potentially working from Australia for a year starting in late May/early June. He was at a loss for words, but he didn’t fire me on the spot ( there is still hope ). Supporting Engage City Church is our calling. It would be great if everything fell into place for us, but sometime we have to step out on faith and do things that look foolish to the world (ie. asking your boss to allow you to work remotely from the other side of the plant). My hope is that this is honoring to Him. Taking chances based on the great things we see Him doing.

We are looking for every way possible to use our strengths to help this movement in Brisbane that will change peoples lives. Showing the love of Christ to a community that is not even looking for God.

It is all about showing love, isn’t it? I mean that is what it boils down to. We can hope for change but the only thing we can do is show others unconditional love. Life change comes from God,

Who and How are you loving unconditionally today?

Back to the everyday … but different

Today is my first day back to work since a 2 week adventure to Brisbane. I am back to the grind but with a changed heart. I have a renewed spirit and a stirring in my heart to hear about the praises of the Lord for the City of Brisbane.

I spent the greater part of the morning reviewing emails. I am a bit jet lagged after not getting enough sleep last night but I read a great passage last night

Romans 10:14-15

Lets continue to pray for Will and Nerida as they are the feet of the message in Brisbane.

I will post some very specific prayer requests later.

Thank you all for your prayers

Flying home today

Today we leave OZ. We are so very thankful that God has allowed us to come and help Will and Nerida transition back to life in OZ. We also thank him for giving us a great trip to see the place the Henderson’s call home.

We have seen lots of great things while we were here, but the one that stuck out the most to me was Will and Nerida’s love of Christ. There were great laughs shared but when it comes down to it. The times of Prayer meant the most.

Goodbye OZ … I venture to say I will see you again someday.
