One might ask,”What is The Brisbane Project”?

That is what I am here to answer. My name is Gerry Brown. I have four wonderful children with my gracious wife, Shannon. Our children’s names are Sean, Gabriel, Kayla and Joshua. And we have been called…

It has come to our attention and our hearts that there are lots of areas in the world that need to be shown love and to be cared for.  There are multiple levels in my mind to care for a city and its people.  With the help of Because We Care and the one.love.movement we are identifying the best ways to care for  the city of Brisbane.

This project is to care for a city in a country where 1 in 20 is clinically depressed. This is a city where the household debt is $40,000 for every man, woman and child. Domestic violence is a substantial issue in this city as well. The domestic violence is not the only cause for children with fathers in prison, but does it really matter why these children need to be shown love?

We are giving up our lifestyle in America to go to Brisbane to meet the needs listed above and anything else we are lead to help with in this community.  Our plans are to partner with as many people, nonprofits and churches as possible.  We have already partnered with a new church plant in Brisbane , Engage City Church, that is also concerned with seeing people cared for in this great city.

If you or someone you know is able to provide funding it would be greatly appreciated.  We have set up a donation page on this site that provides more detailed information on what the donations are going towards.

Thank you for listening to my heart and please visit back as often as possible. We hope to provide month updates (if not more often)on the blog portion of this site
